इस पुस्तक का अनावरण 29 जुलाई 2012 को नई दिल्ली स्थित जंतर मंतर पर किया गया था। उस समय में अरविंद केजरीवाल ने कहा था - "ये पुस्तक वर्तमान केन्द्रीयकृत प्रशासन व्यवस्था की कमियों को उजागर करती है और बताती है कि वास्तविक जनतंत्र कैसे लाया जा सकता है।"  उन्होंने यह भी कहा कि वे इस पुस्तक से कोई रॉयल्टी नहीं कमाएंगे तथआ उनकी इच्छा है कि यह पुस्तक अधिक से अधिक लोगों तक पहुँचे। प्रख्यात गाँधीवादी समाजसेवी श्री अन्ना हजारे ने इस पुस्तक की प्रस्तावना लिखी है।

आप निम्न तरीकों से स्वंय सदस्य बन सकते है व् दूसरों को भी बना सकते हैं।

1) आम आदमी पार्टी की वेब साईट aamaadmiparty.org/join-us पर जाकर फार्म भरें।

2) आप सीधे अपने मोबाइल से 07798220033 पर अपना नाम, STD code, विधानसभा का नाम लिखकर SMS करे। आपकी सदस्यता का नंबर आपके मोबाइल पर SMS के द्वारा भेज दिया जायेगा।

3) आप सदस्य बनने के लिए 07798220033 पर missed call भी कर सकते है।

निम्न लिखित जानकारी उन कार्यकर्ताओं के लिए है जो अन्य लोगों को आम आदमी पार्टी का सदस्य बनाने के लिए कार्य करना चाहते हैं।

4) वेब साईट से फार्म download कर के निकाले, उसका फोटो कापी या छपवाकर कैंप या डोर टू डोर के माध्यम से लोगो को सदस्य बनाये ! सदस्यता नंबर प्राप्त करने के लिए सदस्य बनने वाले के मोबाइल नंबर से 07798220033 पर उनका नाम, STD code, विधानसभा का नाम लिखकर उनके फोन से SMS करवायें।

5) उनका सदस्यता नंबर अपने पास भी नोट करके रख लें। फार्म भरवाने वाले कार्यकर्ता 17 जनवरी के बाद aamaadmiparty.org/registermemberdata पर जाकर अपने द्वारा बनाये गए सदस्यों की सदस्यता नंबर upload कर दे।

6) अगर सदस्यता लेने वाले के पास कोई मोबाइल नंबर नहीं है तो उनके नाम, एसटीडी नंबर, विधानसभा के नाम के साथ वोटर ID नंबर लेकर 17 जनवरी के बाद aamaadmiparty.org/registermemberdata पर अपलोड कर दें। तुरंत ही सदस्यता नंबर दिया जायेगा। हमारे कार्यकर्ता उन नए सदस्यों तक उनके सदस्यता नंबर पहुंचा दें।

7) आप इस सदस्यता अभियान के बारे में सोशल मीडिया और अन्य माध्यमों(SMS) से प्रचार भी कर सकते हैं।

4) You can download the Special Membership form from the website, circulate its copies/prints among people through camps or door to door campaign. To receive a membership number, you can help SMS the potential member’s name, STD code, Assembly constituency area to 07798220033 from their mobile phone. 

5) You should also keep a note of their membership number. Volunteers helping with filling membership forms must upload the membership numbers of members they inducted, after January 17 on the website at aamaadmiparty.org/registermemberdata

6) In case the membership applicant does not possess his/her own mobile number, please note their name, STD code, assembly constituency name and Voter ID. After January 17, upload the same to the website at aamaadmiparty.org/registermemberdata to get the membership number. Finally, communicate the membership number to the new member.

7) You can also spread the word of this membership campaign through social media and by forwarding the SMS.

Note: If any person is found to be indulged in any activity against the party ideology, mission and actions, his membership shall be deemed cancelled with immediate effect.

Swaraj is a 2012 book published in English and Hindi by Arvind Kejriwal, a social activist-turned-politician. Kejriwal questions the present establishment of the democratic framework in India and proposes a way in which he thinks that the people, the opinion makers and the political establishment of India can achieve true Swaraj (self-rule).

The book was launched on 29 July 2012 at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi. At the time of launch Arvind Kejriwal said "The book highlights the shortcomings of the current model of centralised governance and explains how the real rule of the people can be brought about." He also said that he would not be earning any royalty from its sale as he wants to reach as many people as possible. Anti-corruption activist and Gandhian Anna Hazare wrote the foreword for the book. The book is translated to other Indian languages like Oriya.
